Limited Palette Sketches I

I recently began messing around with a different style of sketching in order to practice value control and composition. I start each picture in greyscale, trying to build a sensible composition with a minimal number of discrete shades. Once I have something I like, I apply colours to try and finish the image with as limited a palette as possible. I'm really enjoying working this way! The self-imposed limitations make for some fun puzzle-solving and stop me from getting too hung up on the details.
